I am halfway through the fifth season; man, getting this far has been a struggle. Zoey is such an unlikeable character; in Black-ish, I couldn’t stand her since she was such a brat, and she’s much worse in college! Her feeling of self-importance, her preoccupation with herself, and her vanity all so off-putting.
Also, Zoey has a lot of good fortune, but there is no evidence that she has genuinely worked hard to earn any of her huge breaks. She is always the victim in the ridiculous circumstances she creates for herself.
Zoey and I would never be pals. It’s my friend group that makes me happy. You adore Nomi, Ana, and the Twins. The situations in which Yara attempts to be unhappy or cry are excruciating. At this point, I cannot wait for Junior to rescue the show; he is a character I could binge-watch with enthusiasm!
