Acapulco tells the story of Máximo Gallardo. Set in the year 1985, the story of Acapulco deals with Maximo’s life story as an old and successful Maximo who reminisces about his days as a young boy.
He gets hired to work at one of the most famous resorts of Acapulco, that is Las Colinas. But his dream job turns out to be less exciting and grand than he had previously thought. What happened at the end of season 2 of Acapulco?
The finale of Acapulco Season 2 set the path for the upcoming third season perfectly. In the finale, we see that Maximo is trying to get back his job at Las Colinas. With Don Pablo’s help, he convinces Diane to reinstate him as the pool boy.
He also impresses Diane and Don Pablo with his strategy to get the paparazzi to work with the resort and not against it.
After successfully winning the hearts of Diane and Don Pablo, another good news is waiting for Maximo. Diane tells him that with Don Pablo retiring, the position of Head of Operations might open for him.
Meanwhile, Maximo and Sara plan a secret party for Nora and Estebán’s wedding reception. Although initially, they were bumped with no clue how to decorate for the party, but then all the other workers at the resort showed up to help them. And we get to see all of them share an emotional moment with each other.
Nora and Esteban have a beautiful wedding followed by a fun reception party with everyone. However, the moment that fans absolutely loved was when Julia and Maximo got back together after confessing their feelings for each other. The episode ends with Hugo prompting his uncle in the present to go meet ‘her.’
And upon his nephew’s requests, Hugo and Maximo are seen knocking on a door which a young woman answers. The door opens, and the woman calls Maximo ‘Dad’ as the episode ends.

The second season of Acapulco starts off with the present-day Maximo and his nephew Hugo attending Don Pablo’s memorial service.
Then Maximo dives back into the past with his story. 1985 was particularly a memorable and special year for Maximo- the year of second chances, as stated by him.
Maximo tries hard to deal with his feelings for Julia as the news of her and Chad’s engagement looms large. Meanwhile, Nora and Esteban take some big steps in their relationship, and Nora tries to accept her daughter’s sexuality.
An unfortunate incident at the resort leads to Maximo losing his job. However, after some alone time, Don Pablo realises that the resort means everything to him, and he decides to return.
