The beginner episodes of the show show her struggles in finding a nanny for the kids, which is becoming a hard task as the kids play pranks and makes it hard for the nanny to settle down.
Jimena’s restlessness regarding this responsibility flies away when she meets a male nanny (the F.R.I.E.N.D.S reference is uncanny) who handles the kids smoothly and makes her question her connotation, long-held ideologies, and stereotypes about love and gender roles.
The Manny aka Gabriel (a rancher) shows up in cowboy attire, making Jimena skeptical regarding his responsibilities and discipline that is required to be a nanny.
But as the situation gets desperate for her, she somehow comes to depend on him despite her initial doubts and the children start to grow fond of him, as well, making her fall in love with him.
The other half of the show follows their romance and further complications in Jamena’s life because of the newfound love.

What Happened at the End of The Manny Season 1?
