The Upshaws Storyline: What Would it Be Able to be About?
The Upshaws deals with an African American family who go through their everyday struggles. The show portrays the genuine and relatable struggles that a family has to undergo.
The show revolves around Bennie Upshaw(Mike Upshaw), a car mechanic. Bennie’s wife Regina (Kim Fields) is a strong woman who confronts her husband, time to time because of his behavior.
Lucretia, Regina’s sister is played by Wanda Sykes, one of the co-creators of the show. Regina and Bennie have three kids- Aaliyah, Bernard Jr. and Maya. Bennie also has a son named Kevin with his ex-wife Tasha, who is about Aaliyah’s age.
Every season deals with the problems faced by this family. Season 1 opens with Bennie trying to attend the birthday parties of both Kevin and Aaliyah. The season also focuses on Bennie getting caught for cheating on Regina.
Regina decides to move apart from Bennie. The children have separate struggles of their own. While Aaliyah is trying to make her own place in the society, Kevin is struggling with his studies.
Season 2 of the show opens with a child named Sydney comes to search for her birth father. deals with how Regina and Bennie try to repair their marriage. The children get into more trouble as Kevin cannot decide whether to choose basketball or academics, and Bernard gets involved in fights. Lucretia, meanwhile keeps poking her nose into others’ matters.
Season 3 opens with Bennie and Lucretia imprisoned, as Bennie had sold car parts which were stolen. He sold them at their body shop. Bennie and Regina, meanwhile try to mend their relationship.
The season 4 of the show opens with Bennie and Lucretia trying to mend their relationship as they own the repair shop together. The flight of the show is where Lucretia loses all her money and is unable to tell anyone. When Bennie starts making fun of her she decides to sell the garage which Bennie runs and she owns. This leaves Bennie and Regina shocked.

What Happens At the End of The Upshaws Season 4?
The ending of season 4 centers mostly on Lucretia. Lucretia is the one who helps others with her money, be it Bennie or Regina or Bernard. But now she is bankrupt and the IRS has warned her that they’ll take away her building as she did not pay the tax. Lucretia does not want to convey to anyone anything about her current situation as she is very ashamed.
She tries out several ways, including giving her own apartment out to rent, in order to give back the money and pay the tax which IRS demands. She also tries to stay and Regina and Bennie’s place at often times.
Lucretia wants to sell the garage which she owns but falls in a dilemma because that is Bennie’s source of income. But when Bennie teases her about her condition and Regina says that she needs to be selfish for once, she makes up her mind to sell the garage.
Bennie and Regina are now shocked as Lucretia reveals her decision to them. Meanwhile Bennie was investing in a gym for his son. So Lucretia says that Bennie and Regina is not supposed to have a problem with her decision because they now possess the gym.
