Black Bullet is a sci-fi anime set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has
been infected with a disease that could bring calamity to the world. The series is a
Japanese light novel written by Shiden Kanzaki, with Saki Ukai doing the
illustrations.
It was published under ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Bunko imprint. The series rose in popularity after its initial release of season 1 in 2014 and has been
a long-time favourite leaving fans anticipating for a second season.

Did Black Bullet Season 2 Get Cancelled?
There have been rumors circulating about the possible cancellation of the series.
Some of them include the fact although season one has been decently popular
however, it has failed to meet the expected budget.
The series has only less than 50 merchandise and only four figurines manufactured. The average sale for the Blu-Rays is roughly 2.500, which is quite low and the series has only sold 20,000 copies of the last novel during its peak time.
There is also a rumor that the author might have given up his profession and is currently working in a restaurant. However, there has been no credible source for the last statement.

There has been only one season animated by Studios Kinema Citrus and
Orange under the direction of Masayuki Kojima. Regardless, season 1 has managed

Storyline of Black Bullet: What is it able to be about?
The plot is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is endangered. The year
is 2021 and humans have been defeated by a parasite known as Gastrea that have
clawed their way to the top of food chain.
As a result humans have been forced to confine themselves within walls made of a substance known as Varanium Monolith which has the ability to subdue the parasites. They are protected by an organization called the Civil Security Corporation.
Soon, they discover that some children who are born with the virus can control it and have developed superhuman abilities due to the parasite. They were termed as “Cursed Children” and they have been thrased by society for having the blood of a parasite.
The most astonishing point was that all the cursed children were females due to the intervention of the bacteria. To lead humanity to prosperity, the Civil Security Corporation governs society by partnering with a initiator, a cursed child with a promoter whose responsibility is to guide the cursed children.
The series protagonist, Rentaro Satomi, is a high school student and a promoter in Tendo Civil Security, which is being run by his childhood friend Kisara Tendo. He has been assigned to a secret mission to stop the danger that threatens the destruction of Tokyo.
He is accompanied by initiator Enju Aihara, and together they go on a journey to prevent the events of 10 years before.
What happened at the end of Black Bullet Season 1?
Season 1 ended with a bittersweet ending as the story is set in a tragic world where
children are forced to become soldiers to survive and prove their worth in society.
The series did a great job of setting a dark tone as it showcases the deplorable
condition of the human mind when all hope is lost.
The first season ends with Rentaro losing his comrades in the process of ending the war and bringing peace. Shoma sacrifices his life to detonate the bomb in Aldebaran. Kisara kills Kasumitsu for plotting to kill their parents 10 years ago and for the corruption of the monolith wall.
Her ruthlessness is disapproved by Rentaro and it upsets him. However, Kisara
berates him for not being strong enough to execute evil and see through justice.
The two part ways with Rentaro warning her that he might become her enemy
someday.
During the epilogue, Seitenshi gets approval from the public to implement the new Gastrea law in the hopes of saving the cursed children.
Enju is left pondering about the death of her comrades while Rentaro cries out in fear that he might become numb to the concept of death. Enju tearfully hugs Rentaro and promises to never leave his side.

What will happen in Season 2 spoilers and expectations?
The plot of Black Bullet is a tragic one as we get to witness it at the end of season 1.
However, given the genre of the novel being a tragedy, there might be more tragic
events to come across when one reads the novel.
Compared to the anime the novel is much more ahead in the story and many unexpected situations unfold which will send the readers in disarray and on an emotional roller coaster ride.
Our protagonists can’t seem to get a break from tragedy as in the future Rentaro gets
falsely accused of a crime while Enju suffers a much more brutal fate of getting
tortured and mistreated.
Rentaro’s disagreement with Kisara might have diminished the chance for a romance between them. The parasites might evolve in the future and it may have a severe effect on the cursed children which might diminish their chances of survival and turn them into the monsters that the people fear.
Overall there is a lot to uncover about the parasites and the different organizations that are fighting against them. The is a high possibility that our main characters to gain new
allies as they continue to explore more of the world.
