Rules That American Idol Has Set for Contestants
- At the moment of the audition, all auditioning contestants must be at least 15 years old.
- If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must register you using THEIR date of birth.
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and be lawful residents.
- You cannot audition more than once per season, which includes online auditions.
- You are responsible for covering your travel expenses for the audition and any callbacks.
- You cannot perform with anyone, so if you are in a band, you will audition solo.
