The show revolves around the incidents in Will Trent’s life. He was abandoned as a child and grew up in the foster care service. Naturally, he had a bad experience in foster care, and it had a lasting consequence on him.
Trent had dyslexia, but it didn’t stop him. He managed to become a Special Agent at the Georgia Investigation Bureau (GBI). Trent is flawless at his job, solving most of the cases by himself at GBI. It caused jealousy among some co-workers.
Trent was assigned a case involving their nearby building office shared with the Atlanta Police Department. He solved the case, which landed the arrest of several APD officers.
Meanwhile, his boss Amanda Wagner assigned the arrested officer’s bothersome daughter, Faith Mitchell, the temporary position at GBI. Trent is also involved in his job with his on-and-off relationship girlfriend, APD detective Angie Polaski.
She is actually his childhood friend from foster care. APD detective Michael Omrewood is her partner in work. Trent and his girlfriend’s work sometimes overlap. It brings the whole cast together while solving cases.
