Snowpiercer is a series set in a far-off dystopian world where the earth has become a frosty barren planet that can only support a limited number of human lives. It is a continuation of the film of the same name, released in 2013.

Plotline Of Snowpiercer Season 5
In the distant future, Seven years after the catastrophe that has turned our biosphere into a frozen stretch of barren land, Snowpiercer, which takes place in 2026, throws a spotlight on the surviving members of humanity who have decided to take refuge in a constantly moving luxury train. The railway has 1,001 carriages and completes 2.7 rotations around the world 2.7 in one year.
It was built by a quirky business Tycoon, Mr. Wilford. The train’s steady propulsion throws out energy and shields the passengers from freezing to death. Because of this unforeseen disaster, the on boarders of the train have been ruthlessly assigned to classes and participate in resources-related disputes.
The unequal distribution of scarce resources throws the on boarders into a fit of animalistic rage, and they begin to claim their rights, defying the ministry of the train.
Andre Layton is asked by Melanie Cavill, the Voice of the Train, to assist in solving a murder because of Layton’s prior work as a homicide detective, but people in the last compartment scheme an uprising due to the ever-worsening circumstances in the train.
While Old Ivan kills himself, the “Tailies” decide to protest, but Layton soothes them by agreeing to assist with the investigation while also covertly hatching a scheme to board the train’s front to better prepare for the subsequent uprising.

What Happened At The End Of Snowpiercer Season 3
In the final episode of season 3, the train comprising 1029 compartments was split amongst those who opted to stay with Melanie and those who chose to accompany Andre to the beginning of a new life in New Eden.
In conclusion, the passengers were given the power to decide their own future. In the end, both Melanie and Layton strike a bargain with Wilford, but they later regret it.
Instead of letting the situation worsen, Melanie and Layton come to an agreement whereby they offer the populace the option of continuing to live with Melanie on Snowpiercer or the possibility of moving to New Eden with Layton.
Till and Bennett both reach the decision to accompany Audrey and Melanie on the snowpiercer, respectively. Three months into the future, Melanie travels in the Snowpiercer when she notices a rocket shattering on the skyline, approaching steadily towards them.
Why has Snowpiercer been cancelled?
One of the most bizarre and incredulous things has happened with Snowpiercer. We already got to know, before the premiering of the third season, that the makers and producers of the show are aiming for a fourth one.
But what comes as a shock is that the third season was indeed the last season of the show. So, fans might question what happened to the fourth one. This is where we get a jolt of shock. After finishing everything related to the fourth season, they decided to dump an entirely new season into the trash corner instead of releasing it for the public to see.
