When Is Kim’s Convenience Season 6 Coming Out? (Release Date)
CBC stated midway through the show’s fifth season in 2021 that the Kim’s Convenience Season 6 was no longer in the works. Fans launched efforts in support of Kim’s Convenience almost immediately, but to no avail.
The rapid change of heart was caused by the resignations of the show’s principal creators, Ins Choi & Kevin White, rather than by the show’s ratings.
According to producer Ivan Fecan, “from the beginning of Season 5, Ins wasn’t sure how far he’d like to go beyond that.” The actors were informed of their departure two months before the show was canceled.
However 2 years have passed by and the beloved show can return with a urging petition from the fans, which is currently what’s happening. Therefore, we might get to hear something about whether there will be a Kim’s Convenience Season 6 or not in some time in 2024.
Kim’s Convenience Season 6 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?
“Kim’s Convenience” is a cheerful Canadian sitcom about the Kim family, who own and operate a convenience shop in Toronto. Appa (Mr. Kim) & Umma (Mrs. Kim) are Janet and Jung’s diligent parents.
The show explores the family’s adventures as 2nd generation and 1st generation immigrants and the difficulties they encounter in their day-to-day lives in a lighthearted manner.
Appa (Korean for Father) is a tenacious, no-nonsense dad who expresses great pleasure in his store and frequently imparts wisdom to his kids. Umma, on the other hand, is a kind, occasionally meddling mother who is the glue keeping the whole family united.
Janet, their daughter, is a bright artist exploring life, while Jung, their son, is a loving rascal on his own road.
The Kims face intergenerational and ethnic divides, uncover their own aspirations, and understand the value of relationships with their family and neighbors through the series.
Their connections with a wide range of clients and friends add more to the story’s levity and warmth. With a blend of humor and honesty, “Kim’s Convenience” offers a touching portrayal of loved ones, belonging, and the immigrant experience.
What Happened at the End of Kim’s Convenience Season 5?
In the final episode of Season 5 episode 13 titled “Friends and Family,” we see Jung finds himself in a loop after the time he spent in California, going to work at Handy, the timing being awful in the employment market and the economy facing a downturn.
Janet is the sole member of the family who believes Jung could help them with their business in tiny ways. She asks Appa and Umma if they will allow Jung to make a presentation in front of them as a way to upgrade the store if just for Jung’s sake.
In Appa and Umma doing it entirely for Jung, the destiny of Kim’s Convenience comes to the front of all of the Kims, but not always in the same manner, with each of the Kims meditating on his or her own specific future.
Meanwhile, at the Handy office, outdated, embarrassing images of employees are being utilized as memes, with each subsequent post meant to outdo the one before it.
One of Kimchee’s photos brings back memories of his youth with his dad, who deserted the family not long after the shot was taken. Kimchee must determine whether these recollections of his father, whom he hasn’t thought about in a long time.
Meanwhile, Jung and Shannon haven’t discussed their Incredible Trek application, in which they both unexpectedly volunteered to get hitched on tape if it meant they’d get it onto the program (which they didn’t). While Jung has little recollection of the incident, Shannon may interpret it as a portent of their relationship’s future.

There is no confirmation about Kim’s Convenience Season 6 yet, as the show was officially declared off air by the production company and the creators back in 2021. Andrew, Paul, and Simu have grown crazy popular since then, and it is fair to assume there won’t be a Kim’s Convenience Season 6.
However Season 5 left us in a cliffhanger wondering about what happens to Jung’s business update idea and if Umma and Appa agree to it whole-heartedly.
We might also see more of Kimchee’s story of his father and his nostalgia about his roots. Jung and Shannon’s relationship might also be a little bumpy we can only see now what happens.
