Upset with his father’s illogical decisions, Yukito on the other hand wishes to be born into a different World where the concept of spirituality is absent! To his surprise, our protagonist now steps into a completely isolated village, and soon makes friends with Alura and Siluril, and farmers Clen and Roy.
Yukito learns here about the dark secret of the Imperial city, where the Government has the powers to execute its citizens if it feels that they no longer deserve to live. The story moves further and we see a horrified Yukito witnessing the death of his two friends, Alura and Siluril as they have been announced as undeserved of this life!
Hoping to seek vengeance for the untimely death of his companions, he now prays to his cult God, Mitama to manifest in this realm and help him.
To his surprise, a little girl descends from the sky, introducing herself as Mitama, and kills all those who are a potential threat to Yukito. Thus, starts a new adventure for Yukito to save the village from the tyranny of the Imperial City, in which he finds a helpful hand in the form of Mitama.
What Happened at the End of Kamikatsu Working for God in a Godless World Season 1?
Born heir to a cult, Yukito Urabe’s life is centered around their cult goddess, Mitama. But, things take an interesting plunge soon, when Yukito’s father, during a religious ritual, throws him into the water so that he can now reincarnate in their mythical World as the cult leader!
But, things take a U-turn when Yukito finds himself in a new world devoid of believers of God! He soon befriends Alura and Siluril, the two sisters from the village and learns about the dark secret of the Imperial City! The alternative World of Alura and Siluril is filled with demon-like entities and monsters, who the villagers describe as “dangerous”.

Yukito also learns that although there is no concept of God-fearing among the citizens, there is something even more horrifying. The “Imperial City” and its ruler have all the power to end the life of its citizens, if they find them a waste. Soon, Yukito’s friends, Alura and Siluril lose their life to the tyranny of the Ruler, as the latter has ordered for the execution of the two sisters.
The story complicates even further, and Yukito now prays to Mitama to save his friends. A little girl, disguised as Mitama appears out of nowhere and extends a helpful hand to Yukito to help him, and asks him to trust her. Although Yukito now trusts the powers of Mitama, it becomes difficult for him to convince the villagers to trust Mitama, as they are completely unaware of the concept of “God”.
What lies ahead of Yukito Urabe? Will Mitama be able to save the village from the horrors of the “Imperial City”? Will Yukito be able to return to his own world?
