The con artist in question is a lovely lady named Max, who has both beauty and brains and has tricked the detective many times before finally getting arrested by him. As for the detective, his name is Cole, and he is a law-abiding, organized, but demoted cop.
He is not the best detective and hates working with Max, who is taking advantage of her time as a “cop” and loves the job.
Will they ever meet each other halfway? Will this partnership develop into more than just partners in solving crimes? The only way you’ll know is by tuning to Wild Cards.
What Happened at the End of Wild Cards (2024) Season 1?
We can’t tell you what happens at the end of Season 1 because the last episode isn’t out yet, but we can tell you about the ending of the first episode because that is the only episode released. So episode 1 starts with our vibrant, cunning, and gorgeous con artist Max Mitchell and detective Cole Ellis.
They come face-to-face when Cole catches Max robbing a rich Italian’s safe. How does a con artist like her get captured? She tries to impersonate Mrs. Pallione but gets busted.
She is jailed, while Chief Lee’s orders spread like fire throughout the police department about some “Infinity Thief” who has been stealing rare and expensive paintings. Chief Lee alerts all policemen to look into this thief’s history of theft.
Somehow Max gets to know about the case and shows her interest in finding the thief. She gets so desperate to share her deductions that she makes a deal with Cole Ellis, wherein Cole will let her help, and she will help him get back his old pride and take credit for solving the case.
We get to know a bit about Cole and how his police car was busted for possession of cocaine, and he gets transferred to the maritime patrol unit for the same reason. Max somehow deduces accurately where the thief would try to steal, and Cole follows her advice, except he underestimates the thief and goes alone.
The thief easily escapes, but Cole’s attempt grabs the attention of Commissioner Russo, and he gets to know that Max is the one who helped Cole. And so he does the best thing ever: pair the con and the cop together to solve this important case.
Max and Cole end up in Joey and Noah’s place and realize that the thief sells the goods at a very high price, and they also find that Joey is dead. So in the next episode, they will be trying harder to catch the thief and find out who murdered Joey.

What Can We Expect from Wild Cards (2024) Season 2?
It is very difficult to predict what is going to happen in Season 2, as Season 1 of Wild Cards is not yet over. But what we can predict is that Wildcards will take a turn towards romance. Max and Cole will fall deeper in love (if they don’t fall for each other in Season 1).
If they do fall in love in Season 1, then Season 2 will be them trying to figure out how to keep their professional and private lives in balance. There might be misunderstandings as well. Enough about shipping the main characters; now let’s talk about the plot in general.
