Villainess Level 99 is adapted from a Japanese light novel of the same title. Written by Satori Tanabata and illustrated by Tea, the story revolves around Yumiella Dolkness.
The official synopsis for Villainess Level 99 Season 1 reads:
“This college kid wants nothing more than a quiet life. So when she’s reborn as Yumiella, the hidden villainess of an Otome RPG, she’s not exactly thrilled. Still yearning for peace, she abandons her evil duties to live a more discreet life.
Until her gamer side kicks in, and she accidentally reaches level 99! Now, everyone suspects that she’s the infamous Demon Lord. What future awaits her?”
Yumiella, the main protagonist of the series, is a college girl who wants to lead a peaceful life. But on recalling her past life, she gets to know that she was a villainess of an Otome RPG game (RPG- role-playing games).
The reincarnation trope is becoming more popular in anime and drama scenarios nowadays, and the Villainess Level 99 belongs to such a common trope with a different content to it. Episode three-four saw Yumiella fighting against monsters who are in a group in a forest. With challenges being thrown at her, she doesn’t back down and uses her magic and power to get rid of them.
But the explosion as a result of her dark magic alerts the academy. She gets to have a meeting with Patrick and also finds a dragon egg in the forest.
