As Ataru faces Lum’s extraterrestrial powers, he realizes the challenge is impossible within ten days. His childhood best friend Shinobu Miyake’s promise of marriage motivates Ataru to catch Lum off guard.
Initially, he grabs her bikini top but eventually reaches his true aim. Lum moves in with Ataru even though the game is over because she misunderstands that she is the one Ataru wants to marry.
Lum clings to the poor student constantly while he tries to reconcile with his fiancée. There is doubt as to whether Ataru will ever have any luck after such an appalling outcome to his heroic feat.

At the end of the last chapter, we see the final stage of the queen competition; they need to qualify in three main sections, Energy, Digestive ability and robust strength; the five contestants, including our favorite Lum, clear each stage in a series of hilarious events, especially the last stage of robust strength.
Their surprised face of theirs, when they found they were going to fight against wild beasts was portrayed hilariously.
At the end of the episode, we see the judges announce all the player girls as queens, which is unfair as everyone fights to have the title, but moving on, the episode ends with the usual ataru getting beaten up by the girls and Lum chasing after them.

This show definitely offers some extremely crazy hilarity. That’s probably because it’s a remake of an 80s program, and the comedy hasn’t aged well. There are also a couple of episodes that went too far or didn’t make sense to me.
It’s not quite a laugh-out-loud comedy, but it’s entertaining enough. Some of the personalities may irritate you, while others will make you laugh. I expected more subtle character growth, particularly in the romance, so perhaps we’ll get that in the second Season.
