From our childhood, our parents tell us how it is very important in our life to become highly educated. Well, Bill Gates has already set an exceptional example by dropping out of college and becoming the richest person in the world. Bollywood is a mix of highly educated and less educated actors. However, their low education does not make any of them a lesser of an actor. They are talented irrespective of their qualification, and we love them anyway. So here is a list of 10 least educated actors:

Shri Devi is the first female superstar of Bollywood who did many films, portraying her as the main lead rather than just being a mere supporting cast for the hero. She started on her acting career since she was only 4 years old.

This took a toll on her personal life, hampering her education. She missed out on going to school or college to make her one of the least educated Bollywood celebrities. Some of her popular films are Mr. India, Judaai, English Vinglish, etc.

The evergreen actress of Bollywood Mrs. Hema Malini started working in the film industry from a very young age. Her first film was ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’ released in 1968 when she was only 19 years old. The film made her very popular, and she became the ‘Dream Girl’ of everyone’s dream.

She did her primary education from DTEA Mandir up to 11th standard, after which she dropped out to pursue her acting career. Some of her legendary works are Dream Girl, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, etc.

She could not complete her studies because she got an opportunity to work in the movie ‘Bekhudi’ when she was 16. She studied in St. Joseph’s convent at Panchagani.

Even though she intended to return to her school to complete her studies, she could not. After Bekhudi, they flooded her with enormous acting offers. Some of her successful films are Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Gupt, Baazigar, etc.

Another successor of the Kapoor family, Arjun Kapoor, is the son of film producer Boney Kapoor. In one of his interviews, he said he was never into academics and wanted to work in the film industry. After he failed his 12th exams he dropped out and started working as an assistant director.

He worked as an assistant director in movies like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘Wanted’. His debut film ‘Ishaqzaade’, released in 2012 was a moderate hit in the box office. Later, he appeared in films like Gunday, Ki and Ka, 2 states, etc.

She studied in DAV school in Chandigarh up to 11th standard. She moved to Delhi to pursue her career in modeling and acting. Her notable works include Gangster, Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, Manikarnika, etc.

He studied in st. Stanislaus high school, after which he enrolled in st. Xaviers’ college in Mumbai, but dropped out soon. Among many of his blockbuster hits, some are Maine Pyar Kiya, Tere Naam, Bajrangi Bhaijan, Sultan, etc.

She had to move around to many places due to her mothers’ work. She had no formal education, instead was home-schooled, which hampered her studies.

She started working as a fashion model from the age of 16. Her debut film was Boom, released in 2003. Some of her notable works are Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Bang Bang, Ek Tha Tiger, Dhoom 3, etc.

He comes from a financially constrained background. His childhood however was not as perfect as his skills right now. He did his schooling from the Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, and enrolled in the Narsee Monjee College to complete his twelfth. Khan however was more into sports than studies.

But his passion for acting led him to leave his studies and join a theatre group. Later he ventured in Bollywood and made a mark there with his talent. His debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, released in 1988, was a blockbuster hit. Some other popular films of khan are Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3, Dangal, etc.


10. Akshay Kumar

The action hero Akshay Kumar has an enormous fan base for his action-drama movies. His endurance, stamina, and disciplined lifestyle put him at par with the newer generation 6-pack-abs Heros. He studied at Don Bosco School and attended Guru Nanak Khalsa College for a year. Then he left his education and moved to Bangkok to learn martial arts.

He came back to India and struggled for a few years before appearing into Bollywood. In His debut film saugandh, in the year 1991, he was cast opposite Raakhee and Shantipriya. Some of his notable works are Dhadkan, Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaayia, Airlift, etc.
