We know India for its unity through diversity. India has a very rich culture, and each 29 state of India has its traditions. The tradition, which reflects in their language, food, dance forms, and attires. Here we have analyzed the traditional dress for every 29 states in India.
1.Andhra Pradesh
The traditional dress of Andhra Pradesh is handloom sarees for women. The fabric is silk with a rich texture and color. Andhra is famous for its kalamkari sarees, and their sarees are called Langa Voni.
Men wear dhoti-kurta or lungi with a kurta. Some of them wear kurta with pajamas too.
2.Assam
Assam is one of the seven sisters in the north. They make the traditional dress of Assam from lustrous silk that is Paat, Eri, and Muga. Eri is used to make winter wears, especially Eri Chador, and Paat is for summer wear, Mekhla Chador. The traditional dress for women is Mekhla Chador, which is a two-piece ensemble.
Traditional wear for men is a simple kurta paired with dhoti, along with a hand-woven scarf on their shoulder called Gamusa.
3.Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh is another state among the seven sisters. The traditional dress of Arunachal Pradesh for women is sleeveless Chemsi layered with full sleeves coat like a jacket. They keep it tied with a waistband.
The men wear lungi with a sleeveless shirt of silk. The Lungis are woven with different colored threads or with tribal motifs.
4.Bihar

The traditional dress of Bihar, for men, is white dhoti with kurta and a white turban.
5.Chhattisgarh

6.Goa
The party capital goa has the traditional dress, almost similar to any south Indian traditional dress. The traditional dress of Goa is also saree for women. The sarees are stone studded, which they call Nav Vari. They also wear traditional costumes called Pano Bhaju that comprising a sarong (a kind of lungi) paired with a blouse.

7.Gujarat
The traditional dress of Gujarat is full of vivid colors. Women of Gujarat wear Chaniya choli, a three-piece attire comprising Chaniya- a paneled skirt, Choli- the blouse, and a Dupatta. The dresses have beautiful embroidery with famous mirror work.
The Gujarati men wear dhoti or churidar pajama with Bandis, traditionally known as ‘Chorno and Kediyu’ paired with rich coloured turbans as headgear.
8.Haryana
The Haryanvi traditional dress for women is a shirt or blouse with a skirt and a head veil or dupatta. Traditionally they call it Ghagra, Daman, Angia, and Odhni. Their Odhnis have borders of sparkly laces.
The men in Haryana wear kurta-pajama or kurta with dhoti. The dress is completed with ‘pagri’ a traditional headgear and Jutti as traditional footwear.
9.Himachal Pradesh
The traditional attire of Himachal Pradesh, comprises Kurtas, Rahide, Lehenga-Choli, and Woollen shawls. Himachal Pradesh is a dominant winter state, so the clothes are mostly woolen. A special shawl made from sheep fur popularly known as ‘pashmina’ is very famous all over the country.
The men wear dhoti-kurta paired with their traditional cap or ‘pagri’.
10.Jammu Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir is a dominant winter state, having warm clothes as their traditional outfit. The men and women both wear Pheran that help to survive the cold. Pathani suit is also a traditional outfit of Jammu and Kashmir.

11.Jharkhand

14.Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh is known for its Bhandhni cloth. The women there wear lehenga choli with a specific dupatta known as Lugra.
The traditional dress of Madhya Pradesh for men is relatively simple, comprising dhoti-kurta or shirt, topped off with a jacket called Bandi or Mirzai. They wear a unique headgear called ‘Safa’.
15.Maharashtra

17.Mizoram

18.Meghalaya
The women of Meghalaya wear ‘Jainsen’ as their traditional outfit. It is an unstitched garment made from mulberry silk. It is also a state that has many tribes living in, like Garo, Jayantia, and Khasi. The women of the Garo tribe wear Ghana as their traditional outfit. It is also an unstitched cloth tied around their waist and paired with a blouse.
