There shall be showers of blessings is a Christian hymn composed in 1883 under the pseudonym of D. W. Whittle by Daniel Webster (1840–1901). James McGranahan composed the music.
The hymn is based on Ezekiel 34:26–27’s reference to “showers of blessing.” Daniel W. Whittle, Daniel Webster White, Whittle Daniel, Nathan, and El Nathan were all pen names used by Webster.

What Does “There Shall Be Showers of Blessings” Mean to God?
God just reminded me to bless those who inflict the greatest amount of sorrow. That was not acceptable to me. Why should I continue rewarding them for their inappropriate behavior? However, that is not what He intended. He desired that I show them love regardless of how they treated me.
From my perspective, I have blessed several people without receiving a single #Blessed in my inbox. My body immediately sneered in response to God. I recognized that in order to triumph over adversaries (in my heart), I needed to bless them. If I do, what I refer to as the law of blessings (which is analogous to the law of gravity) boomerangs in my direction.
