This is definitely up there with the best I’ve ever seen. It could be better than the early seasons of The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead, but it’s just a little behind. Everyone adores Negan and Maggie (Lauren Cohan), and they continue to excel in this installment.

As Negan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan excels in particular. Negan’s arc is as excellent as any on television in recent memory. He went from being one of the show’s most heinous villains to a character you root for.

Occasionally, I found my attention straying, which is unfortunate because I used to be completely immersed in The Walking Dead universe. I even found it disheartening that they introduced a few new characters only to finish them off without giving them much time to develop. It seemed like a lost chance.
