Stolen Part 2 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?

At a remote railway station, two brothers witnessed a baby being stolen. An impoverished tribal woman, Jhumpa, was panicking when she woke up from her slumber to find her five-month-old baby missing.

Gautam came to pick up his brother Raman to attend a destination wedding. Somehow, Raman was suspected of the kidnapping and thoroughly questioned by two callous local policemen.

Stolen Part 2 plot

While Gautam was reluctant to help the situation and ready to get back to his normal life, his brother Raman was desperate to help poor, helpless Jhumpa.

A series of unfortunate incidents follows these two brothers and Jhumpa in their journey to search for the missing baby.

Their hazardous journey led them to an unprecedented reality, threatening them from their comfortable trail.

These two young brothers faced the harsh realities of this dark society, following mob rage and blind faith. All these to test their resilience, trust, morality, and humanity.

Director Karan Tejpal took inspiration from a seemingly real-life incident, reading from a newspaper. A 2017 news report stunned Tejpal when it stated that two brothers were wrongfully accused of kidnapping and brutally lynched by a mob.

The film portrays the disparity between rich and poor, which is prevalent in India, as well as the difference between city and village. Amidst the actions and thrill, the film targets the problem of classism, casteism and the imbalance in the system of our society.

Tejpal also took the topic of the misguidance of the false news spreading across the messaging app like WhatsApp in his film.

This figuratively influences a major part of the population of our country into taking the wrong action. Tejpal took the chance and portrayed this gracefully in this film.

If there is going to be a sequel to this film, we expect a similar topic of mistreatment to be portrayed in the Stolen Part 2. Although Tejpal is a genius, he will surely bring stories alive by taking inspiration from real life into an action-packed feature.

Tejpal is working on two other films. One is with the rural Indian Romeo-Juliet setup, and the other is a Jim Corbett story adaptation. A horror story that also deals with social stigmas and superstitions.

What Happened at the End of Stolen Part 1?

The movie Stolen revolves around two young brothers and a childless mother who face many challenges, uncovering many mysteries they never imagined. The search for the stolen infant led them to a web of misfortunes.

Raman, Gautham, and Jhumpa consequently drive into a place where villagers block their roads. They suspect the brothers because their faces are all across social media, and this is the start of their complicated journey.

They were running and fleeing from the angry mob throughout the alleyways in a secluded village. The film is fast-paced. The three protagonists are always moving, not stopping for a moment.

Throughout the film, Gautam Bansal, a total urbanite, has a huge transition in his personality. He changed from a privileged man who didn’t bother to be sympathetic to a human who cared about others. Abhishek Banerjee, who played Gautham, took this role to a different level.

In the end, Jhumpa’s character, played by Mia Maelzer, also changes from a poor, helpless mother to a woman of powerful aura.

Along the way, Jhumpa reveals secrets that were never imagined by the viewers. It leads to the climax in a way that carefully brings suspense that other movies have not reached before.

What Is The director’s Thought Regarding the Movie?

Karan Tejpal, who previously worked as assistant director for 3 Idiots, took inspiration for his debut feature from a real-life incident. He talks about the term “WhatsApp lynching,” which was pretty prevalent between 2015 and 2020.

Tejpal expressed, “There were hundreds of cases where innocent people of all classes and castes were being wrongfully accused by large mobs and lynched.” He described how state services are not for all sections of people, so there are no forms of justice.

The public makes decisions on their own, which leads to such injustices. Tejpal also took inspiration from Buddha’s tale, where the prince Siddhartha Gautama transformed into a different being after witnessing death. Gautham had this immense character transformation like Buddha in the movie.
