Monk decides to meet Lisa, his sister who is going through a rough divorce and has a job at Planned Parenthood. Later they pay a visit to their mom who has Alzheimer’s.
One day at lunch, Lisa suffers a heart attack which forces Cliff to come back home. He is their brother who has had a miserable life because of his divorce and addiction.
Monk spends his time at their beach house and one day he gets an idea about writing a novel that has all the raw black experience needed.
