Do you like the Time-travel series (maybe you’re a Steins Gate fan)? Do you like mecha anime (a Gundam fan perhaps)? What if these two genres united to give a series with the thrills and fun of both of them?
Revisions is the series that manifests these hypotheticals into reality, in the form of an action-oriented, science fiction story that uses the device of time travel to tell the tale of Daisuke Dojima.
With a run of 12 episodes, the first season of the series was released in 2018 after being produced by Fuji TV and animated by Shirogumi inc, the series saw global syndication via Netflix.
The entire Revisions Season 1 can be found on Netflix, however there is unfortunate news surrounding the series as of now.

Which Studio Is Making Revisions Season 2?
FujiTV production company decided to cancel Revisions Season 2 and subsequently Netflix also ended the series run at the end of the first season. Multiple sources have reported the same.
As such the decision could be due to the lukewarm audience reception but there is an argument to be made that the series had reached closure.
The studio’s decision to let-go of the characters and not extend the series to the point of meaninglessness is a welcome decision, given how the last episode ends.
Revisions Season 2 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?
Revisions is a tale of Daisuki Dojima, a young kid who was kidnapped from his home at a young age and embroiled in a prophecy, by Milo the person that saved him from the kidnappers.
Milo entrusts him the responsibility of saving people from a calamity somewhere in the future, and Daisuke makes that the very essence of his being. He begins preparing for the day when this day would come to pass, and in doing so harms his personal life by developing a gigantic saviour complex that worked to everyone’s detriment.
The incident in question takes place when the entire city of Shibuya is displaced in time to three hundred years into the future, by some mysterious means. This hostile future is overrun with the “Revisions.”
These are hostile robotic monsters that roam the unimpeded wilderness that covers what used to be the city of Japan. Milo, clad in combat suits known as “String Puppets” arrives to save the people from a Revision attack, kicking off the plot.
Milo is from the organisation ARCH, which aims to defeat the mecha-monsters and send Shibuya back to the time where it belongs.
Daisuke and his gang are also given their own String Puppets as part of the Shibuya Defense Service. The S.D.S. as it comes to be known is responsible for taking down Nicholas, the main villain of the series.
What Happened at the End of Revisions Season 1?
The season finale of the first season entitled “Revert”, gave a great ending to the first season. Milo travels back to the night of Daisuke’s kidnapping with the aim to kill Keisaku when he was a kid to prevent him from being assimilated into Nicholas.
The story forms a time-loop with Daisuke imploring Lu to always remember his childhood self, which prevents Nicholas from brainwashing the gang into forgetting Daisuke.
Eventually Daisuke and Nicholas end up outside the time stream, a final battle of revision and string puppet to determine their fates.
Daisuke gains the upper hand and Keisaku manages to subdue Nicholas and his consciousness manages to guide Daisuke back to 2017. Daisuke is back with his friends and the season draws to an end.
What Fan Can We Expect from Revisions Season 2?
There is no manga to follow when it comes to the series, Revisions Season 2 will have to be based on the anime itself. So it is hard to say what could have been a part of the second season, but one can speculate.
The reason for the Shibuya transfer is still unknown to the general public and this mystery could be unraveled further. There is also the possibility that they could have explored the consequences of the transfer, on the society at large and there is the potential of Nicholas making good on his threat and coming back to haunt the main five-member squad.
One interesting avenue that the Revisions Season 2 story could’ve taken was exploring the use of the future technology. The String Puppets, in modern society.
Mainly how these puppets could be used to advance society and make meaningful changes. In a cyclical way it could be the undoing of the Shibuya Transfer that led to the future we see, and the ARCH’s creation.

How Is the Season Rated So Far?
Revisions sits at a 40% audience score on RottenTomatoes, remains unscored on MyAnimeList, 6 out of 10 on IMDb, and 3 out of 5 on Common Sense Media. Basically the ratings range from to low to mid for the series with certain episodes being very good and being in the 8 out of 10 range, a cut above mediocrity.
One reason for the rather lukewarm audience reception was the use of CGI in the animation which has always been a contentious issue in the anime community even as a part of larger series from more well-known studios. So, there was apprehension within people especially, those who are basically hand-drawn purists.
However, most reviewers generally agree that the story and action were really good and thoroughly enjoy the series as it is. Despite these highlights it failed to create much of a splash within the fandom and remained mostly obscure.
