Revealing the main staff, a concept picture and a character visual, Netflix announced that “Onmyoji Episode 1” will be a Netflix exclusive show. With Netflix’s early announcements, the Studio Partner of Onmyoji Episode 1 also came to the forefront.

Baku Yumemakura has been working on his supernatural novel series, Onmyoji since the 80s. The series of novels takes us to the Heian period of Japan, introducing us to the protagonist, Abe No Seimei, a master of Onmyodo, traditional Japanese form of Cosmology.
The storyline of Onmyoji revolves around the Heian period in Japan, and follows the exploits of Abe No Seimei, a master in traditional Japanese Cosmology, who now befriends the Royal Heir, Minamoto no Hiromasa.

The duo now decides to take in charge of protecting the Heian-capital kyou’s, from their opponent, another Onmyoji named Douson who has been secretly making plans for the emperors’ demise.
Will Abe No Seimei and his friend, Minamoto no Hiromasa be successful in their mission of protecting the Heian Capital Kyou? What happens to Douson? Why is he plotting against the Emperor?
