Plotline of misfortune
Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune is an ONA directed by Hideki Anbo and based on the light novel series of the same name written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by So-bin. The series consists of only six episodes and is produced by Netflix.
The anime is of the sci-fi war genre and is set in an alternative timeline where the world has succumbed to alien rule and is now forced to be a supply hub.
The humans are now known as Yakitori, which literally means ‘chicken skewer’ and is a depiction of their new status as food or just exploitable manpower.
