Storyline of Masters of the Air: What is it able to be about?

Masters of the Air is an American drama series that is based on Donald L. Miller’s 2007 book. The story of young people who served their time in World War II by being part of the 100th Bomb group within the US Eighth Air Force revolves around the theme of World War 2.

The team was given a variety of details and instructions for their mission, which also included waging a battle at 25000 feet in frigid conditions, such as the freezing temperature or lack of oxygen. The show is more than just a war story. It also shows how young men feel and think as they fight to end Hitler’s rule.

What happened at the end of Masters of the Air Season 1 Episode 1-9?

In 1943, two USAAF soldiers named Gale Cleven and John Egan from the 100th Bombardment Group went to England to help the Allies fight Nazi Germany. In June, four B-17 planes from RAF Thorpe Abbott go on a daytime bombing mission in Bremen, Germany.

The bombers can’t see the targets because of cloud cover, so they cancel the mission. The 100th has to fly through heavy enemy fire and then is attacked by Luftwaffe fighter pilots.

The failed mission results in the loss of three B-17s and thirty men. The 100th commanding officer, Colonel Harold Huglin, is relieved of command because of illness.

The 100th has to deal with losing its first battle. At a pub, RAF members argue against the American idea of raiding during the day. Lieutenant Curtis Bidick beats a British pilot because he felt disrespected.

When Major Marvin Bowman gets sick, Major Cleven has to lead the 100th on their second mission, which is bombing German U-boat pens in Norway. Despite his airsickness, Lieutenant Harry Crosby successfully navigates the mission. The other planes slow down to keep up with Lt. Biddick’s B-17.

The 100th Air Force unit took part in the Schweinfurt–Regensburg mission in August 1943, aiming to destroy aircraft production facilities deep within Germany before heading to the Middle East.

Lieutenant Lieutenant Biddick and his co-pilot are killed while landing in a forest. Sergeant Quinn parachutes to safety and lands in Belgium after his B-17 is destroyed. He is confronted by people who want him to leave. Major Egan and Cleven arrive in Africa.

In October 1943, new B-17 crews including Lieutenant Robert Rosenthal arrived. Another 100 bombs hit Bremen. A Polish war widow meets Major Egan in London during his leave. When Major Cleven doesn’t come back from Bremen, an angry Egan comes back to work early. Sgt. Quinn is helped by Belgian resistance smugglers.

He meets two other American airmen, including Bob. Bob dies because he was caught spying for Germany. Quinn and the others arrive in Paris by train on the way to Spain.

After suffering heavy casualties, the 100th returned from the Bremen mission. Lieutenant Crosby is promoted to lead navigator from Captain Payne. Major Egan leads another attack on Münster a few days after the one in Bremen.

After being intercepted by swarms of fighters, the mission ends disastrously. All except one B-17, controlled by Lieutenant Rosenthal, was shot down. Major Egan parachutes into the German countryside after bailing from his plane.

Major Egan is captured and almost killed by angry German civilians in Rüsselsheim after a bombing. He is taken to Dulag Luft for questioning before being moved to Stalag Luft III. He meets other soldiers from the 100th, including Cleven.

Lieutenant Rosenthal and his team go to a country house to relax and get help, but Rosenthal doesn’t want to go. The captain meets a British ATS officer at a conference at the University of Oxford, and they bond before she’s called away on a whim.

In March 1944, the 100th Airborne Division lost fifteen planes and one hundred fifty men while flying over Berlin. P-51 Mustang fighter squadrons protect the bombers more successfully.

They are upset because the number of missions needed for a crew to leave is now 28. Captain Rosenthal finishes twenty-five missions but decides to reenlist. Rosenthal is to command the 350th.

Captain Crosby starts having an affair with an ATS officer named Westgate. Quinn returns to the base and is disqualified from further missions because he knew about the escape routes.

Prisoners of war make a special radio to listen to BBC news in Stalag Luft III. If there are any further escape attempts, the camp could be handed over to the SS and Gestapo.
