Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a forthcoming action-adventure game with a Lego theme developed by Traveller’s Tales and released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It will be the sixth edition of the Lego Star Wars video game series developed by TT Games and the sequel to Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The game will adopt all nine films from the Skywalker trilogy. Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will all receive the game in early 2022.
Over the last five years, Star Wars fans have been treated to a regular supply of content via numerous films, television shows, and other forms of media. However, one piece of Star Wars content has remained persistently elusive: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. For several years, Star Wars fans have been anticipating the latest installment in the long-running LEGO brand, but a series of delays have kept it out of the hands of eager players multiple times. Thankfully, it appears as though things are improving for the highly anticipated release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Since August of last year, Fans have known that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is scheduled to release in the spring of 2022. The game has previously been assigned release dates that are susceptible to change, but new rumblings about The Skywalker Saga’s release have sparked some excitement. There is a widespread belief that the game will indeed release when creator TT Games claims it will, and it is now simply a matter of spreading the word. Suppose there is one venue for gaming announcements that garner significant interest at the start of a new year. In that case, it is Nintendo’s fabled Direct events.
Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Gameplay
Unlike previous Lego video games, which required players to progress through the plot in a linear fashion, players can begin the game at any point in the nine Skywalker saga episodes and finish them in any order they desire. Each episode will contain five story missions, totaling 45 levels, compared to the previous games’ six levels per episode. Combat has been redesigned in comparison to previous titles, with lightsaber wielders now able to perform a variety of combinations with light attacks, heavy assaults, Force maneuvers, and blaster characters now sporting an over-the-shoulder camera (angle featured in many third-person shooter games). There are 300 playable characters in the game.
As with its predecessor, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the game’s hub will not be a single region, as in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga’s Mos Eisley Cantina, but rather a vast array of completely explorable planets populated with several classic Star Wars monuments. Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant, Kamino, Geonosis, Kashyyyk, Utapau, Mustafar, Yavin 4, Hoth, Dagobah, Bespin, Endor, Jakku, Takodana, D’Qar, Starkiller Base, Ahch-To, Cantonica, Crait, Ajan Kloss, Pasaana, Kijimi, Kef Bir, and Exegol are among the planets and Numerous spacecraft, such as Star Destroyers and the Death Star, will also have freely explorable portions within the center. Additionally, random encounters will occur in the game’s hub. For instance, an Imperial Star Destroyer may leap from hyperspace and launch a fleet of TIE Fighters toward the player. Players can choose to participate in dogfights with them or advance the plot by continuing on.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Date

Following an announcement at Gamescom 2021, we now know the release date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be ‘Spring 2022‘. A more specific date has not been revealed yet, but we’re hopeful that will change shortly. Particularly given that we are now in the alleged launch year.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Galaxy Map
Another noteworthy gameplay element was shown during the Gamescom 2021 Opening Night event when fans were treated to their first glance at the Galaxy Map, which will be used to travel between planets.
The map allows players to completely explore regions that are densely packed with familiar franchise icons, such as Arch-To, Geonosis’s harsh desert, Dagobah’s dark marshes, and Starkiller Base’s snowfields.
Several destinations appeared to be inaccessible, which means you’ll most likely have to unlock more iconic planets as you proceed through the missions.
Who is developing The Skywalker Saga?
Traveler’s Tales is continuing the Lego series, having previously developed Lego Harry Potter, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, and, of course, the Star Wars titles.
This ensures that fans of the series continue to receive the same level of polish.
