Mask Girl, adapted from a Naver webtoon of the same name written by Mae Mi and Hae Si, also goes by Maseukeugeol (마스크걸) in Korean. The story of Mask Girl is focused on the tragic life of Kim Mo Mi. An office worker by day, Kim Mo Mi is a broadcast jockey on the internet by night.

When Mo Mi was a child she dreamed of becoming a star that shone among the stage lights. She began to think that she had turned ugly as she grew older, though. She has always been proud of her flawless-looking body, leaving her face aside.

As her alternate online persona Mo Mi wears a mask to conceal her flaws because she has always felt insecure about her appearance. But things are not that simple; Mo Mi’s life gets complicated when she gets entangled in a chain of unexpected things on the internet along with Joo Oh Nam.

Kim Mo Mi’s coworker Oh Nam has a crush on her but it is only on one side. Oh Nam feels inferior about his appearance just like Mo Mi does. According to him he lacks presence. His only source of happiness amid all of this is watching online broadcasts.

Then out of nowhere he is involved in a surprising incident with Kim Mo Mi that has a profound impact on both of their lives. He learns the identity of the Mask girl and Mo Mi behind her and after that he gets missing.

This series is amazing and very exciting! A very unique way to tell a story. The twist is so crazy that you won’t be able to guess what will happen next. There are three actors who play the main characters and it’s cool to see how similar and different they become as the story goes on.

Yeom Hye-Ran is the best. A true legend of an actress. I’m watching the second season of Uncanny Counter and it’s so cool to see her in a part that’s so different from her role in Uncanny.

The photography is great and showing each character’s point of view in each episode is a great way to get to know them well. I really want to know if Mo-Mi died or lived. I want a second season but I also think the ending is good enough that we can use our imaginations to figure out what really happened.
