As soon as the battle intensified, Utena finds herself enjoying the dark side of her that evokes evil and causes pain to others.
She discovers herself relishing the sadistic part of her which is creating havoc in the battle. This anime, also titled as Mahou Shoujo no Akogarete follows the journey of Utena and her dreams to be a hero but ending up as a villainess.

What happened at the end of season 1?
Has always admired the magical girls and wanted to become one of them, so that she could fight against evil and injustice and protect people from the same.
But she encounters a doll-like character who states that she could turn her into a heroic magical girl.
However, she turns into a villainess and her dream gets fulfilled but in a reverse way. She has to somehow come to terms with her transformation, that makes her become an evil magical girl.
But whenever she transforms into this evil being, she starts to like that dark and sadistic side of hers too that causes pain and misery to others.

As she is a school student, this anime (manga adaption) follows her journey as a villainess who has an obsession with magic girls and also her journey in her school life.
