William George Kusunoki Miller, Mir Jji Kusunoki, born September 18, 1992, professionally known as Joji and formerly for portraying Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, rapper, and internet personality. The music of Miller has been described as a combination of R&B, lo-fi, and trip hop. Shortly after relocating to the United States, Miller created The Filthy Frank Show on YouTube in 2011, where he became well-known for portraying eccentric characters on the comedy channels TVFilthyFrank, TooDamnFilthy, and DizastaMusic. The channels featured comedy hip hop, monologues, extreme challenges, ukulele, and dance performances, are renowned for their shocking humor and viral prowess.
Miller’s videos helped popularize the Harlem Shake, which contributed to the commercial success of Baauer’s song of the same name and spawned parodies and YouTuber collaborations. Between 2014 and 2017, Miller released two comedy studio albums and an extended play under the name Pink Guy. Miller left The Filthy Frank Show in late 2017 to pursue a music career under the name Joji. The single “Slow Dancing in the Dark” appeared on his debut album Ballads 1, which was released in 2018.
