Shiro who is an albino girl and Takami who is another prisoner and wishes to free his sister help Ganta.
Ganta learns he can control his blood, becoming one of the inmates who possess special powers, a “Deadman.”
Pressed into deadly bouts called Carnival Corpse, Ganta grows friendships with other prisoners and tries to find out the identity of Red Man and the nature of prison.
What Happened at the End of Deadman Wonderland Season 1?
Nagi attacks all the guards and then Ganta stands to protect Shiro, getting all the blows and trying to talk him out of it.
However, when Nagi starts to return to his senses due to the bell that Karako wears which reminds him of his friends, Karako is suddenly stabbed by Genkaku.
Nagi is prepared to defend his friends, however, he is shot by Genkaku who starts killing the remaining guards and Ganta gets poisoned because he last ate any candy a while ago.
Hibana runs away but is killed by Toto who had obtained Senji’s abilities after drinking his blood.
When Shiro transforms into the Wretched Egg mode, the stone in Ganta’s chest glows and shoots a powerful blast while Nagi keeps Genkaku in his place, both of them mortally wounded. Before Nagi died, he gave Ganta his last piece of candy.
As Karako and some others run, Ganta decides to stay behind so he can protect his friends. Toto develops curiosity towards Ganta’s Branch of Sin and wants to know how it tastes.
Near the end of the episode, Shiro sings a lullaby to Ganta, who says that he last heard the lullaby before his classroom was attacked by the Red Man.
