“Big Timber” is a reality television series about Vancouver’s lumberjacks with a similar theme. The cast is unremarkable and dull. A smaller, family-owned mill faces a (literal) uphill battle to maintain its success.

It is replete with cliched editing and dramatic situations intended to heighten the tension, but it all seems forced and superficial. From the caused lines reacting to a 1-second disaster moment to the narrator, whose job appears to be to set up every scene as having the potential to kill someone, it quickly wears on you.

Once you’ve seen one batch of timber being hauled with difficulty, you’ve seen them all.
