Daniel Petry is a sixteen-year-old boy from Brazil who was convicted for the murder case of another twelve-year-old boy, Gabriel Kuhn, over the issue of non-repayment of game money.

Although not much detail is disclosed about the young boy, the news came into circulation that Petry was, anyway, a pretty aggressive and short-tempered boy who reacted quite violently to any minor inconvenience.

His violent behaviors led his parents to send him to some therapy sessions. However, no results bore out of his passionate involvement in gaming, television, and other electronic tech-related activities, which made him miss his lessons and school as he spent most of his day in front of the computer.

Gabriel, unlike Daniel, was quite shy and introverted. However, the fact that he took a massive online loan from Daniel and did not pay him back was unethical. His murder by his friend Daniel created quite a buzz worldwide. The case dragged in court for some time before the accused was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Daniel Petry and Gabriel Kuhn’s murder

Both Daniel and Gabriel met online and instantly became friends. Their friendship deepened with time as they also started hanging out together. Gabriel asked Daniel once for a loan of 20,000 in virtual Brazilian currency.

Gabriel promised Daniel that he would return the money in a few days. Daniel, trusting Gabriel, transferred him the money on the condition that he would return it in a few days. However, as time passed by, not only Gabriel started ignoring Daniel but also blocked him from his virtual contact list, suspending any communication with Daniel.

He kept the money for himself. Gabriel’s irregularities and discreet behaviour enraged the sixteen-year-old boy, and one day, he decided to take matters into his own hands. It was the 23rd of July 2007 when Daniel reached Gabriel’s home.

As soon as the latter opens the door, Daniel lashes out at him, beating him black and blue, making Gabriel unconscious. Daniel, however, not only hit him but also raped him. With a console wire, he tried to choke the young boy.

To carry the dead body to a safe hiding place, Daniel cuts Gabriel’s body in half and cuts one leg. He hid half of the body near the trap door and the leg on the hacksaw.

The autopsy report suggests that the victim was half-conscious when his leg was being removed. Daniel was soon arrested for his crime and according to reports, he did not show any act of defence or any inhibitions on his arrest.

What happened to Daniel Philip Petry?

On being accused of the murder and arrested by the police, in the court, Daniel admitted all his crimes. He admits how, where and when he murdered his friend. Even while admitting to his crimes, the police and lawyers were shocked that the boy was highly unapologetic and unbothered by his antics.

He had no guilt, no shame and no regrets. He knew what he did, and he owned up for it. What Daniel Philip Petry did not accept was the rape accusations against the victim Gabriel.

However, as the autopsy report clearly stated that while being mutilated and abused, the victim was also being raped, it was clear that Daniel was the rapist. The boy was jailed for three years and got out in 2010. However, since 2010, he seemed to have vanished from the face of the world.

Nobody knows where he is, what he does or anything related to his life or family. He never existed at all. Daniel’s life changed drastically after that incident, as he became a household name overnight. Any possibility of engaging in any professional line, maybe in the gaming world, only completely subsided after getting involved with this case.

More surprising is his total disappearance from both cyber and social space. Nobody knows anything, whether he is alive or dead, what job he is associated with, or where he lives.
