Storyline of Urusei Yatsura: What is it able to be about?
Urusei Yatsura (2022 TV anime) is the remake of the 1981 adaptation of the same name by Kitty Films. The series ran for five years and ended in 1986. Urusei Yatsura is originally based on a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi.
The 2022 adaptation is an All-Star series. It will only adapt the original plot in 46 episodes, split into four cours. The series is airing on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the show in North America and some other regions.
The series revolves around Ataru Moriboshi and the alien girl Lum. Aliens from Lum’s planet named Oni came to invade the Earth by winning a game.
Unlucky high schooler Ataru Moroboshi was chosen to represent Earth. He has to win a game of tag against the planet’s Princess Lum. The task is that in ten days Ataru has to touch Lum’s horn to win the game.
Ataru accidentally won the game when he was very close to losing the game. Ataru motivates himself after a promise of marriage to his childhood friend Shinobu Miyake. A misunderstanding led Lum to think Ataru proposed to her after winning the game.
Then Lum decided to move into Ataru’s house. Poor Ataru tries to reconcile with Shinobu, but he cannot get rid of clingy Lum. The series contains their daily happenings, full of comic events, puns and all.
What happened at the end of Urusei Yatsura Season 2 previous Episode?
In episode 8 of Urusei Yatsura season 2, Shinobu felt miserable for not finding any suitable partner. She complains to Nurse Sakura about all the peculiar partners that chased her. She loses hope for her true love. Sakura told her that love will find a way towards her.
In the next scene, Shinobu confronts a boy in a rabbit costume. Shinobi helped him as he was extremely hungry. However, he too turned out to be touchy towards her which landed him a fierce slap from Shinobu. He went flying and vanished suddenly in front of Lum.
However, the rabbit boy left a key. Coming from that, Lum and Shinobu make a door while Ataru joins them. They opened the key which led them towards a void with many doors. They entered through a door to another world.
They entered an alternative future where they witnessed familiar faces but they are all grown up. Lum and Ataru were extremely devastated watching their future.
On the other hand, the rabbit boy named Inaba in his own world got rebuked by his rabbit companions for losing the key. He approached Lum, Shinobu and Ataru and eventually revealed the secret of the “key of fortunes”. He guided them into the alternative world.
The key honestly holds the power to shape the future and unlock the myriad possibilities of destinies according to one’s desire. Inaba offered to help them find their desired future while taking a chance on Shinobu.
Lum, Atar and Shinobu with Inaba won’t through different doors. They witnessed different possibilities for their future. While they went through a whole lot of doors somehow they are all kinda the same and unsatisfying to them.
However, they are still determined to find their bright future through as many doors as they can. The episode ends with Inaba asking Shinobu what she would want for her bright future. Shinobu and all went ahead to find out more.

What will happen in Season 2 spoilers and expectations?
Urusei Yatsura season 2 episode 8 ended on an incomplete note. Episode 10 will continue where it left off. It means Shinobu, Lum and Ataru will continue searching for a bright future with their ideal partner.
