Across the bridge, Rose, Fulmer, and Magnus get to Baz, who tells them it is too late and nothing can be done to reverse it. However, Rose insists that they can try to make contact, but the ocean floor starts breaking, and the Rig collapses. As Rose, Fulmer and Magnus run for their lives, Baz chooses to stay back. As everyone gets on the choppers, the Rig is destroyed in a giant wave.

The Rig Season 1 summary detailed
Season one of The Rig has six episodes. The series starts with the Kinloch Bravo oil rig crew excited to return home. However, a delay is reported from the cost, and Baz is upset as he has been bumped off the list for Fulmer.
An already agitated crew is scared again when a mysterious fog surrounds the oil rig with zero visibility, and all communications are cut off. But Magnus gets everyone under control, but suddenly ash starts raining from the sky. The crew is even more surprised when Baz gets up completely healed. He starts acting weird. It is found that the ash was working as a carrier to some primitive parasitic life forms.
And something was happening at the bottom of the ocean floor, sending quakes up to the surface. The crew starts losing their minds as Rose tries to figure out what is happening. Rose finds out that an ancestral life form has been reawakened, and a mass extinction may be underway.
Meanwhile, the fog lifts, and the crew discovers that the nearby Kinloch Charlie has exploded. A few survivors come to the Bravo in a lifeboat. Among them is Cloake. A suspicious man initially makes everyone think that the parasite is trying to kill everyone.
