The Other Black Girl Season 2 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?
The story revolves around Wagner Books, a promising, successful publishing house in the heart of New York, and two of its employees, Nella Rogers and Hazel-May McCall. Nella used to work in the company for quite some time.
As an only Black woman working in the publishing house, Nella often used to feel lonely, left out, and cornered. However, eventually, Hazel joined the firm. Finding another Black woman along with her made her feel a bit included. She finally thought she had a friend, a reliable person.

However, there was an instance when Hazel’s advice led to a rift between Nella and her boss and co-workers. Since then, a rift began in the two women’s friendships. Hazel even started getting much more love, attention, and focus from the work front, making Nella question the integrity of her friendship with Hazel.
Nella’s life took a more complicated turn as she started receiving mysterious messages from an anonymous person asking her to leave the office immediately.

What Happened at the End of The Other Black Girl Season 1?
The season ends with the reality behind the hair grease coming out. Hair grease, or as people call it, ‘the social lubricant,’ directly affects women’s ventromedial prefrontal cortexes. This lubricant eases out the PTSD that mostly black people go through, the anxieties and tensions to fit in and conform to the boxes created by American society.
These greases were circulated by the “sisterhood,” who assimilated women in these groups to use these products to help themselves get recognized in the White corporate society. Hazel and other women parties of this propaganda efficiently got into the corporate White circles.

By the end of the novel, Nella tries to reveal the reality of the Sisterhood and the product. Not only that, she teams up with Jesse Watson, who helps Nella devise a perfect plan to make this revelation, and the person who helps her in this process is Wagner’s first and only Black senior editor, Kendra Rae Philips.
However, this time in the book, the biggest turn happens in the end when Nella teams up with the Sisterhood showing up in the office with a polished, sleek straight hair but later on calls someone and says “I’m in, let’s burn it down” making her whole taking sides questionable. The show ends at this cliffhanger.
