What Is The Storyline Of Praise Petey Series?
The main focus of the show Praise Petey, as the title suggests, is Petra Petey St. Barts. At one time, Petey was a successful, typical rich New Yorker who had everything. But one day, she loses everything all at once, her job as Senior Assistant/Editorial Assistant at a fashion magazine, her fiance, her best friend, and even her house that caught fire.
Just when she realized her life had gone downhill, White St. Barts, her mother called her and gave her shocking news. She tells Petey that she has, or rather, had, a dad who recently died and passes a VHS tape given to her by her father.
In the VHS tape, her father informs her that he had a small Southern town village named New Utopia under his name that he has passed onto her. With nothing in New York, Petey now sets out to arrive in New Utopia, where she is welcomed in a very gracious manner, much to her shock. Later, she realizes that this was because New Utopia is a cult!
A cult that his father had started as its leader and now passed onto Petey. When Petey accidentally asks for a human sacrifice, she realizes that she has no intention to be the leader of this cult as it is.
She then makes it her life goal to change the people’s minds in New Utopia so that they start thinking for themselves. In the process, she is determined to change herself as well. But will it all be so easy for her?

She decides that she will make this mill her own and starts it anew with the first ever interview from Bandit, which also showed that Petey had feelings for him. By the end, Petey and Bandit get together, while the cult members also start to grow as individuals.

A really enjoyable series! I wouldn’t exactly say it’s a full on comedy or full of jokes but it’s lighthearted, humorous and really entertaining to watch. The premise of the show is really refreshing too and there’s some interesting dynamics.
I’m invested in all the main characters and side characters and always in anticipation of the next episodes. I really really hope we get more seasons!!!
Great animation design too. I’m mostly happy with the pacing of the plot and I enjoy the weirdness incorporated in the show because of the cult theme. The characters feel real and I like how Petey grows as a person little by little in each episode.
