First and foremost, I am a major fan of anime and nier replicant, automata, and drakengard. I am an enormous admirer of Yoko Taros’s art. The first episode is a recreation of the opening few minutes of the game; it includes CGI, but it is well-executed, and the music is the same as in the game. If you like the anime and haven’t played the game, I strongly advise you to give the game a shot.
And if you’re not a fan of anime but enjoy the game, this is an excellent place to start. Knowing that a1 images are behind this anime gave me hope, and I’m pleased to report that it hasn’t disappointed me thus far.
I hope that the next episodes of the season will introduce new elements. I’ve heard a new character wasn’t in the game, so I can’t wait to find out what that’s about.

Awesome animation, same voice actors (Japanese voices), and soundtrack as the original game (They won Best Score and Music in the game awards in 2017). Out of pure nostalgia, I reinstalled the game.
If you haven’t played the game yet, I wouldn’t recommend reading this because I saw parts of the second playthrough (believe me, you need to play the game at least four times to get the complete history because it changes each time). I wasn’t let down in the least by it, even if my expectations were quite high. This degree of sincerity is greatly appreciated and I hope it remains.
