Storyline Of My Secret Romance
The South Korean drama series, “My Secret Romance” revolves around the romantic relationship between Jin-wook, a rich spoiled brat, and Yoo-mi, a simple girl from the city.
In the story, we see the two protagonists, Jin-wook and Yoo-mi meeting at a resort, the famous Gangwon-do resort, while getting engaged in a series if misinterpretations and misunderstandings!
The story furthers a bit, and we find that our female lead, the cut girl Yoo-mi went to the Gangwon-do resort to attend her mother’s wedding, while our hero, Jin-wook was working there as an attendant!
In reality, Jin-wook, as we said earlier, belonged to a rich family, but he lacked a sense of responsibility. So, to teach him important values of life, his father made him work as a bell man! Interesting isn’t it?
Much expected, Yoo-mi’s shy yet free-spirited character catches the eye of Jin-wook, and they both decide to spend a night together. However, situations take an unexpected turn, when in the morning, Jin-wook discovers himself alone, with no trace of Yoo-mi beside him! This made our hero feel hurt and insulted.
Fast forward to three years later, the duo meets again! This time Yoo-mi appears on the screen as a successful nutritionist, who is appointed to be the personal dietician of Jin-wook, who now works at his father’s company, leaving behind his past carefree life.
When the two love birds meet, Jin-wook, at first, behaves coldly with Yoo-mi, only to get closer to her on different occasions.

Later, the two confesses their feelings to each other, and vows to wait for each other till their last breath. But, their “happily ever-after moment” was still far from reality.
Things again take an unexpected turn, when Jin-wook’s father mistakes Yoo-mi’s half brother, Dong-goo, to be Yoo-mi and Jin-wook’s son! Upon knowing about his son, Jin-wook feels guilty about doing wrong to Yoo-mi, and promises Yoo-mi to give his name to Dong-goo.
When Yoo-mi came to know about the misunderstanding, she became very upset, as she thought to herself that Jin-wook was only with him for Dong-goo, and not for Yoo-mi’s love. In the meantime, Joo Hye-ri makes an appearance, she is deemed to be the most suitable partner for Jin-wook!
But, Jin-wook rejects her and proposes to Yoo-mi publicly. The series ends with Joo Hye-ri and Hyun-Tae, who has a long-time crush on Hye-ri travelling together, while Jin-wook and Yoo-mi attend her mother’s re-wedding ceremony.
What happened at the end of My Secret Romance season 1?
In Season 1 of the series, we saw Jin-wook and Yoo-mi meeting at a resort, where the duo decided to spend the night together. But, the next morning, Yoo-mi left the place without any prior notice, which made our hero feel insulted.
Three years later, the duo met again at Jin-wook’s father’s company. Yoo-mi was appointed as the personal nutritionist of Jin-wook, who now has become a changed persona.
After seeing Yoo-mi three years later, he acted cold with her for the first time. Later, the duo confessed their feelings for each other and decided to stay with each other forever.
The scene changes, and we see Hye-ri entering the scene, as the would-be of Jin-wook. However, our hero rejects her and proposes to Yoo-mi instead.
The show ends with Hyun-tae proposing to Hye-ri, and Jin-wook and Yoo-mi confessing their genuine feeling to one another yet again! A perfect happy ending!
What can we expect from My Secret Romance season 2?
There is a very slim chance that the show will be renewed for a Season 2, as Season 1 of the series ended on a happy note, with Jin-wook and Yoo-mi confessing their love for each other.
However, if we ever get a sequel of the series, we can expect “My Secret Romance Season 2” episodes to delve deep into the relationship dynamics of the couple.
The audience can expect to see more of the love interactions between Jin-wook and Yoo-mi. The show is also expected to focus more on the chemistry between Hye-ri and Hyun-tae, whom we saw travelling together in the first Season.
We can also expect to see new characters added into the series, to make it more interesting and enthralling.
