High Card Season 2 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?
So, first things first, our MC is Finn. Finn is an orphan, and he lives his life freely in the streets. However, one day, Finn gets to know that his orphanage is about to close down because of a financial crunch.
To save the orphanage, Finn decides to try out his luck at a casino to earn money to save his orphanage. When he reaches the orphanage, he witnesses a scene full of gore and car chases.
Soon, Finn realizes that the distraction was caused by a man’s “lucky” Card. What is this “lucky card”? Well, there are 52 cards in the kingdom, and if one plays with them, they develop supernatural abilities, and if these cards land in the wrong hands, they can destroy the whole world!
Now comes the main plot. Our MC, Finn, gets to know about a secret high-class group called High Card. High Card was appointed by the King of Fourland to find all the 52 magical cards and put them back in place.
Finn obviously tries his best to be the fifth member of the group, and he gets in! Now he has to work with the team to find all the cards and punish the person who was responsible for scattering those dangerous cards: the luxury carmaker Pinochle.
High Card Season 2 Episode Recap
The first episode starts with our team of card owners chasing down a person who was flying fast in the sky (he is using the power of a card). Finn and his team skydive from an airplane to catch that guy.
Finn shows off and shoots the man with his pistol in mid-air. Meanwhile, the news of the death of Fourland’s crown prince spreads like wildfire. This news brings joy to the mafia boss, and there is a discussion about who will be next in line to the throne.
Leo submits the found cards, but he is dejected when he has to give the cards to the assistant and isn’t treated with respect. Sugar and Captain set strict protection around the castle; however, they end up getting heavily injured after there is a bomb blast.
Before Sugar fainted, she saw Iris. On the other hand, Fin gets to know that his parents died in a bomb blast on his 7th birthday. He got this information from his adoptive father. Finn gets motivated to find his family’s killer after knowing the truth.
The High Card group yet again has to stop another evil card owner from misusing his powers. His powers were that he could transform into any animal. While Chris and Finn are fighting the man, the man gets injured and runs away.
Finn follows him just to find a guy in black armor who stabs the card owner to death and absorbs his Card. Finn has a shocking realization: the man in black armor is his family’s killer!
Before Finn can be killed, Chris saves him and runs off with him. Tilt stops the black-armored guy. Chris then discusses the whole situation with the other members of High Card. The episode ends with a glimpse of Xenon, who plans his step against High Card.
What Can We Expect from High Card Season 2 Episode 4?
In the upcoming episode, we will get to know what is up with Iris. Was she the one who caused the explosion that wounded Sugar and the Captain? Also, we got to know about the guy in the black armor and that he was the killer of Finn’s family.
Who is the guy behind the suit, and how is he related to Tilt? (as Tilt was able to stop the guy from following Chris and Finn.) Xenon is about to do something, and from the phone call received by the Mafia boss, it seems that the phone call must have been either about the guy in the black armor or Iris successfully injuring Sugar and Captain.
All in all, the future seems dark for the High Card members as the danger keeps growing in number.

On My Anime List, High Card Season 2 has scored 7.24 out of 10. Some reviewers call it the “Kakegurui x Kingsmen” combination that has given the viewers one of the best anime of this year.
The characters are well-written, and the premise is very original and interesting. This show even gets points for diversity because one of the main characters is Vijay Singh, who originates from India.
Some reviewers, however, feel that a bit of depth needs to be explored. It feels all too rushed and superficial.
