She is shocked to see Zhao Xi in the director’s office and comes to know that he really is the chief. When Huang Bai Hao declines Shi Lan’s request to start seeing patients again, Zhao Xi asks her to be his temporary assistant.
During this time, Shi Lan discovers the real Zhao Xi and all her preformed notions about his personality are broken. The two grow close as they treat patients together and form a bond of friendship. Shi Lan then convinces Zhao Xi to be her fake boyfriend in front of her mother. As they continue with their fake relationship, they realize their true feelings for each other.
