Fortunately, Netflix has made an official announcement via their YouTube channel, alerting us fans that we can expect a season 2 of this brilliant show. Netflix further adds that season 2 is currently under production.
Regardless, there have been rumours that Castlevania Nocturne may emulate the original Castlevania series, which featured four seasons.
Netflix has not shared the actual date, but the show will get a season 2 by late 2024 or early 2025. So, till then, keep bingeing Castlevania Nocturne Season 1 and the OG Castlevania (2017).
Castlevania Nocturne Season 2 Storyline: What Would It Be Able to Be About?
The backdrop is of 1783, Boston, Massachusetts; young Richter Belmont witnessed his mother Julia killed by Orlox, and from that day on, Belmont picks up a whip and swears vengeance.
In nine years, the scene shifts to the French Revolution, where the poor struggle against the rich for equality. The vampires are the symbol of the rich who, just like blood-drinking parasites, feed off the poor.
The backdrop of the French and American Revolution plays a vital role in showcasing the struggle of people experiencing poverty against the vampires, who have always been the metaphor for the ruling class.
The introduction of Erzsebet Bathory is dramatic as she is the main villain of the show whose purpose is to bring an eternal eclipse so that the vampires can come out during the day and, in turn, have no weaknesses, thus improving their chances of ruling over the world.
Now Abbot (yet another main character, Maria’s father) wants the vampires to help fight the rising masses, who are starting to reject God and want to use the resources of the church to fight wars and improve their own lives.
Meanwhile, the vampires, too, need Abbot because he can transform humans into night creatures. The rest of the show deals with the struggle between the vampires and Richter’s allies, namely Annette (A vampire hunter, also Richter’s girlfriend), Mizrak (previously a supporter of the abbot but later had a change of heart), and Tera to, stop Maria (partner of Belmont) from getting sacrificed and further prevent the night creatures from ravaging more innocent souls.

What Happened at the End of Castlevania Nocturne Season 1?
Ultimately, Erzsebet creates an eternal solar eclipse, making the vampire group more vital than ever. The surprise appearance of Alucard (we agree his sudden appearance in season 1 was surprising and turned the tables) and his killing of Drolta was probably the most significant loss the Vampire group has suffered.
Meanwhile, Tera gets possessed by Erzsebet and turns into a night creature. There is also a shift in Orlox’s mind as he seems to be trying to change his side and fight against the vampires. Overall, the ending leaves us craving more of Alucard and many questions to be answered.

What Fans Can Expect from Castlevania Nocturne Season 2?
There are so many directions the Castlevania Nocturne season 2 can opt to go for. With the eternal solar eclipse created by Erzsebet, the vampire hunting group led by Belmont is on the back and needs a push-up to fight the vampires again.
Tera might take over Drolta’s position as Erzsebet’s second-in-command and most loyal foot soldier. In season 1, we don’t see Maria’s reaction to her mother’s (Tera) transformation, so we can expect to see it in season 2 and how she deals with it.
Tera might face the same fate as Edouard, or she might recognize Maria and snap out of Erzsebet’s possession. We may also see Orlox changing sides and fighting alongside Richter. As for Richter, he may work on his newfound magical skills and become even stronger.
And finally, who can forget Alucard (serious bias)? Season 2 will highlight his Backstory, why he wanted to defeat his father, why he is like his mother, and why he’s devoted to destroying the vampires even though he is part vampire and part human.
The theme and background of revolution and the struggle for equality might continue even in season 2 because of its vital symbolic significance.
