Original anime always have an element of surprise, and this program was consistently excellent. Buddy Daddies was a warm, sweet, taut, and somewhat emotionally conflicted story. I am not astonished because I have high expectations of PA. Works, and they consistently create original anime that only sometimes follow the generic path.
The previous season of the Akiba Maid War is a prime example. If you want to compare it to Spy x Family, while their synopses are similar, they have distinct overall themes and vibes. This program aims for a more heartwarming tone and a somewhat tense story.
I genuinely adored Buddy Daddies. All the characters are incredibly likable, and the two primary characters have a fantastic arc. Additionally, the show’s heartwarming family moments never failed to make me beam. And the highest praise I can give is that none of these moments felt artificial or distant.
They were always effortless. Given PA Works’ history of creating unusual stories, I could not predict the show’s trajectory in the finale. This performance is also somewhat gloomy. Considering the origins of this family, it is slightly controversial.
