When Is 6ixtynin9: The Series Season 2 Coming Out? (Release Date)

The series is set in the time period post the pandemic and follows the life of Monruedee Sarnpaan, or Toom who used to work at an insurance company, but soon felt completely hopeless and helpless as she faced the brunt of the rapid job losses due to the poor economic conditions of the country, forcing Toom to return to her somber abode.
Toom had to discover a way to sustain herself owing to the sudden crisis befallen upon her and although she wanted to end her life of suffering by putting a bullet in her mouth but even that wasn’t an option.
The following day she found a brown parcel at her doorstep. Toom ignored the parcel, but the neighbors passing by saw the parcel and handed it to Toom.
Convinced that the parcel did not belong to anyone Toom accepts the box containing a million dollars for herself, believing it to be the remedy to all of her difficulties, but soon after, it is revealed that the money actually belonged to Kanchit.
Who had fixed a match and the money was to be delivered to the manager of the opponent fighter who is revealed to be Toom’s former boss, Tong, from her job at the insurance company, who conducted his illegal business in apartment 9 which was in the same building where Toom resided.
The number plate marked 6 which belonged to Toom, would often flip, which caused the confusion among Kanchit’s men, Bum and Noi regarding the delivery of the money and instead of delivering it to apartment 9 they delivered it to Toom’s apartment.
Soon after they realized their mistake they entered Toom’s apartment to retrieve the money and ransacked her apartment but they were soon met by Toom attacking Noi with a vase and stabbing Bum with a knife, after which the following situations resulted in a murder spree, with Toom getting caught in the crossfire, leading to the beginning of Toom’s chaotic life of crime.

Following the incidents at her apartment and fleeing the scene of the crime, with matters escalating and news of the gun fires spreading, Toom took refuge in a hotel room as she could not flee the country because her face was being showcased across news channels as due to her absence from her own apartment.
Toom sent part of the money to her parents as she was close to them, which goes to show her desperation and necessity of the job. After which she decided to abandon the bloodstained money which took the lives of so many including Toom’s best friend.
Toom dumped the money in a swamp along with her clothings and bags, which was later found by a fisherman who happily took the money along with him. Toom was left to roam around the streets and commit to any job that came her way just to survive, but she never met the angel which shows that Toom did not die or take her own life.

The renewal of the series must also require adequate source material to adapt from as the series ends the feud between the individuals involved in the situation and all the hands handling the transaction of the money were dead, with Toom having to wander as a wanted criminal and having the money end up in a fisherman’s hands.
The original source material which was the Thai classic movie, ‘A funny story about six and nine’ also ended on a similar note.
