Who is Amy Preasmyer?
Amy Preasmyer is a conspirator of the murder of her boyfriend Ricky Cowles Jr. She is serving a lifetime sentence for her crime at Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
In the year 1997, Amy Preasmyer was a 16-year-old sophomore high school student. She met 21-year-old Ricky Cowles Jr. at a house party. The two were in a relationship, but things started to change when she got pregnant.
Amy started blaming Ricky for getting her pregnant as a teen, which she felt hampered her relaxed party life. Various sources say that she resented Ricky for ruining her life.
Sources also said that in August 1997, Ricky, Amy and one of her friends, Jennifer Kellogg, moved to an apartment in Lancaster, California. However, she schemed a ruthless plan to terminate her boyfriend from her life.
What Happened Between Amy and Her Child’s Father?
Amy was 15 weeks pregnant when the incident occurred. She believed Ricky burdened her life with the baby. Ricky was an electrician at his family business who was naturally happy in a relationship with his pregnant girlfriend.
However, Amy did not hesitate to make a vicious murder plan to remove Ricky from her life. She approached Billy Hoffman to kill Ricky and offered to pay cash.
Eventually, Amy, her friend Jennifer and Billy plotted the murder. They invited Billy into their apartment, schemed the plan and showed him the hiding places. The two girls also warned him that Ricky might fight back in defence.
Ricky entered the apartment at 9 pm when Hoffman ambushed him, beat him many times with a claw hammer and, at last, shot him with a gun. Amy, with her friend, returns to the apartment and finds him covered in a pool of blood.
Amy called 911 to report the incident. The paramedics arrived, and Rocky was conscious and responded that his back hurt. Ricky succumbed to death three days later.
Who is Billy Hoffman?
William Billy Hoffman was the hitman behind Ricky Cowles Jr.’s brutal murder case. Hoffman was a former store clerk. Amy hired him to kill her boyfriend in exchange for money. Hoffman didn’t know Ricky personally but had mutual friends. After the murder, Hoffman told several people of his heinous act. Finally, he was arrested in April 1998.
Hoffman was sentenced to a lifetime without parole in prison in October 1999. Plus, he was given a sentence of ten years for using a claw hammer and alleged use of a gun for murdering.
Several witnesses claimed Amy was involved in the murder. Yet she denied everything and got away with the murder until 2005.
