The Heavenly Inquisition Sword, is an action, fantasy, and martial art based manhwa. It tells us the story of a young boy named Yeon Jeok Ha, who is from a very prestigious family but, due to certain circumstances, turns into a mountain bandit.
The story opens with Yeon Jeok Ha as a young child who is subjected to abuse by his stepmother and step siblings. He also has a distant father who will not meet him because he believes that if they did, he would grow to despise his son since his mother died while giving birth to him. Jeok Ha is extremely timid and apologizes to everyone he meets with that as his foundation. Early on in the story, he meets a young girl who recognizes that he has been mistreated and promises to “protect him.” They play around for one day before she departs, and Jeok Ha is imprisoned in a warehouse for ten years.
Jeok Ha becomes a mountain thief after escaping the warehouse. In the process, he picks up the dialect of the bandits’ leader, changing his tone from that of an innocent child who was soft-spoken and apologetic to a coarser and more derogatory one. Although he is the master of the Nine Heavens, he currently hates his Yeon family very much. Now that he has acquired extraordinary martial arts skills, he embarks on his journey as the sole heir apparent to the Heavenly Inquisition Sword.
