The Eminence In Shadow Season 2 Episode 1 Release Date
The streaming service HiDIve confirmed Eminence in Shadow Season 2 at the Anime Expo 2023, held at July 2023. They also announced it with characteristic panache by premiering the entire first episode of the second season at the expo. The Eminence in Shadow season 2 is expected to begin streaming on October 4, 2023.

Season two will adapt the third volume of the light novel, which will begin with the Lawless City arc, centred around the Blood Queen.
The Blood Queen is a vampire whose awakening makes her a looming threat throughout the initial volumes of the novel, as the Shadow Garden moves to neutralise her.
At the same time Shadow is being pursued by Juggernaut, Yukime and Crimson – the three rulers of the Lawless City-who are determined to stop his pursuit of the queen.
There’s also plenty of corporate drama to be expected, with Shadow’s shell corporation Mitsugoshi ltd. attempting to overcome the Major Corporate Alliance, in a seemingly cliched clash of old and new but with the Cult’s hand behind all of it.
WIth Studio Nexus continuing with the production and Kazuya Nakanishi at the helm, the audience can expect stunning fights and crisp swordplay that were the hallmark of the previous season.
The Eminence In Shadow Season 1 Recap Summary
As a refresher, the first season adapts the first two volumes of the original light novels and ends its run with episode 20.
The major events at the end of the episode were the recruitment of Rose into Shadow Garden and the reveal of the Eminence to the world at large.
Rose murders her father, becoming queen of the Oriana kingdom, and is recruited as soldier 666 within the shadow garden.
She is one of only two operatives that have received aid from the Shadow (Cid) himself, so the audience should keep an eye on how her abilities develop over the course of the series.
Rose also knows of Cid’s past and his escapades as the stylish bandit slayer in his young age, deepening their connection.
Moreover the duel between Beatrix, Princess Iris and Shadow, echoes across the entire city. Shadow brandishes his city-destroying attack but vanishes before unleashing it, much to the frustration of Iris and Beatrix.
The two are given credit for driving the threat of Shadow away but none of the city knows how close they edged to destruction.
Alpha takes Rose into the old kingdom of Alexandria, which was repurposed as the headquarters of the Shadow Garden.
This showed the sheer scope of Cid’s plans and how far his alter Shadow had reached in his goal of ruling the world

The Eminence In Shadow Storyline
The eminence begins as a typical isekai with our protagonist, Minoru Kagenour, arriving in a fantasy world blessed with unique abilities after being squashed by a truck in our world.
What follows from this beginning though is completely atypical. It at once upholds and subverts all the established tropes of the genre with each subsequent episode, making it a fan favourite series.
Minoru Kagenou becomes Cid Kagenou, the second child of a minor noble house in the Kingdom of Midgar. He is not a world conquering spunky adventurer, instead he wants to become the eminence in shadows- a figure that manipulates and plans out everything out of everyone’s sight and at once reveals it to them to the shock of the characters and delight of the audience.
Cid is acutely aware of this situation and the tropes associated with the genre and his actions are carefully orchestrated to fit these expectations.He pretends to be an innocuous background character but in secret, builds the organisation The Shadow Garden.
He begins by recruiting seven girls into the organisation and dubs the Seven Shades. The stated aim of the Garden is to defeat the Cult of Diablos- a threat which Cid thinks he made up but is in fact 100% real and our hero is inadvertently at the centre of complex geopolitics.
