The show follows brothers Marty and Rick Lagina as they explore the mysterious Oak Island, located off the coast of Nova Scotia in Canada.
The duo with the help of crew members like Dave Blankenship, Craig Tester, Jack Bagley, Dan Henskee, Charles Barkhouse and others, put their expertise in various fields to finding out a speculated treasure and historical artefacts that are believed to be on Oak Island.
The speculation is based on a lot of theories of from where and how did the treasure come from on the island; here are a few notable ones: Zenal Halpern’s theory states that North African gold carried by the French ended up on the island.
Kathleen McGowen and Alex Butler say that the fabled Knights Templar’s treasure is buried on the island. John O’Brien proposes that the treasure in the Island can be associated with the Inca Civilization and can be of the Aztecs.
None of the theories have been confirmed or denied by the Lagina Brothers, who continue with their pursuit of the treasure.

Season 11 saw the Lagina Brothers make some of the most breakthrough discoveries since the 8 years of the show. The recent artifacts that were discovered recently were: Unusual Earthenware at Lot 15.
