Ex-detective inspector Frank Hathaway is pressed under the burden of debts. By fate, he meets Luella Shakespeare, who asks him to help her discover the true identity of his online fiancé. The fiancé turns out to be a cunning con artist.
Hathaway and his wannabe actor assistant, Sebastian, try to convince Luella of this. But Luella completely disagrees and marries him. On the day of the wedding, he is unexpectedly killed by someone.

Their research finally leads them to Michael Reynolds, who is a crooked person married to Beverly Sinclair. The man was imprisoned, and when he tried to escape, he was met with a serious accident. After that, he was paralyzed and confined to bed before dying.
Frank and Luella set out on the mission to discover the truth that caused the whole incident. The only unfortunate thing is that they get to the clues very late, which causes him and Rob Davenport to get stuck in a house. They are imprisoned without finding any way out.
