Revolving around the story of a man who turned into a pig with special smelling powers, Buta No Liver Wa Kanetsu Shiro is a Japanese light novel series, originally written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Tosaka.
The light novel series has been adapted into an anime version by “Project No.9”, and was premiered for the first time on 8 October 2023.

“Buta No Liver Wa Kanetsu Shiro” a light novel series of the Isekai genre chronicles the life story of a dull otaku who turns into a pig, soon after he tastes a pig liver! The anime series introduces us to the protagonist of the story, an Otaku, who, on one fine day, lost consciousness after consuming a pork liver!
Soon after he regained back his senses, he realized that he had been transported into an alternative world, where he was being born as a pig, with a special smelling capability. As he found himself rolling in mud, a mysterious girl, came to help “the pig”.
Jess, born into a special family of Yethma, possesses “mind-reading” abilities. With her specific capability, she can now feel and understand what “the pig” has to say! When our protagonist learns about Jess’s thought-reading ability, he realizes that the girl can also read his lustful thoughts, which makes him ashamed of himself.
But, surprisingly, Jess is perfectly fine with his boorish thoughts and acts nicely with him. When the man who turned into a pig came to know that his friend Jess was in danger, he decided to help her out.
But, would a pig be able to protect his friend with little to no capability? Will his “special smelling power” help the duo in the mission? Why is Jess so sweet to him even after knowing about his thoughts?

Born into a family of Yethmas, Jess possesses the power to read minds and thus can read the constant stream of perverted thoughts of the “man turned pig” towards her!
But, in an unexpected twist, Jess’s reaction to his “dirty” thoughts are quite nice, and she is not at all angered at his lustful feelings for her. But, why is Jess so sweet and kind to the pig? Is she hiding anything?
On the other hand, when the “pig” comes to know that Jess, his friend is on a mission to the Capitol and danger is looming around her, our hero promises to protect her. But will he, with no special powers other than smelling capabilities, be able to save his friend? What awaits for the couple in the future?
