Tokyo Vice Season 1 Storyline

The story of Tokyo Vice is inspired by the actual life memoir Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat written by the journalist from America, Jake Adelstein. The backdrop is set in neon-covered Tokyo in the late 1990s.

The story sheds light on an American reporter (Ansel Elgort) who shifts to Japan and joins a popular Japanese newspaper agency. Paired up under the supervision of an old officer(Ken Watanabe) in the vice squad of Tokyo police, he starts to understand the deadly and dirty world of the Japanese Mafia – Yakuza.
