Last year’s very popular dancing reality show India’s best dancer has come up with their season 2 auditions. Due to the coronavirus pandemic India’s best dancer audition 2021 will be a digital audition. Moreover, last year also the shootings of the show were also affected because of a coronavirus outbreak in India.
About India’s Best Dancer
The show first aired on 29th February 2020. Then the show stopped for almost four months and then on July 13th, 2020 they started the shooting. And the first episode after the pandemic aired on July 18th, 2020. Judges and Hosts
Last year the judges of the show India’s Best Dancer were Malaika Arora, Terence Lewis, and Geeta Kapoor. The judges are popular film stars and great choreographers of the industry. The judges are one of the reasons for the popularity of the show. Terence Lewis and Geeta Kapoor are the first-generation judges of them dancing reality shows. There are many episodes where they invited popular choreographers film stars are popular personality theories as guests for a special appearance. Remo D’souza and Nora Fatehi appeared on India’s best dancers as guest judges.
In the first season comedian, Bharti Singh and her husband writer Harsh Limbachiyaa were the hosts of India’s best dancer. This year the show has not declared the hosts for season 2 yet.
Winner and participants
India’s best dancer winner of season 1 is Tiger Pop AKA Ajay Singh. In the first season, there were 12 contestants after the mega auditions were completed. Each contestant had their mentors all choreographers. More interestingly the participants performed along with their choreographers. Every week there was an elimination except in weeks 3, 5, and from 7 onwards.
In the 6th week, there was also a choreographer swap. In this episode, the participants the choreographers were swapped among the participants. Therefore each participant had a new choreographer after that. Moreover, it was also the week of the wild card special. One wildcard participant entered the show on the 6th week. Winner Tiger pop had Vartika Jha as his choreographer.

Eligibility for India’s Best Dancer audition 2021
- The person has to be an Indian citizen.
- The person has to be 14 to 30 years old.
- As there are participants below 18 years, they need to provide parental or legal guardian’s details and approval.
- Anyhow, this is a digital audition the person need not reach any venue for this. But you need to have an Internet connection are you can go to any nearby cyber cafe for uploading your video.
- The person also needs to provide his or her identity proof details.
Indis’s Best Dancer audition process
- First Things First, this year there will be a digital audition just like last year.
- However, only the first step of the audion will be online. After that, there are several stages of the auditions (if cleared the digital audition) which you have to clear to reach the studio auditions.
- The participant needs to download the SonyLIV app from Play Store or Apple Store.
- After successfully downloading the app the participant needs to go to India’s Best Dancer audition page, which is now live.
- Before filling up the audition form the candidate needs to read the terms and conditions. And if you agree to them proceed by clicking on the check box then click on ‘I agree’.
- Then you will find the online form for auditions. You also have to select your preferred language and fill the form.
- Make sure your contact details and email id are correct because the authorities will be contacting you through that only.
- They will ask you to select a city among Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata for your studio audition (if selected).
- After that, you have to upload your audition video. You can perform in two styles in an audition video. In that 90 seconds, you have to show your three best moves.
- The length of the videos has to be of 90 seconds and it should not exceed 90 seconds at any cost.
- Once your video is uploaded you can click on the submit button. The team of India’s Best Dancer will contact you within the next 15 days if selected.
Things to remember before uploading the performance video for audition
- While recording your performance make sure that you have set your camera at a perfect place where your full body is clearly visible.
- Set the camera in landscape/horizontal mode.
- The video has to be raw and no editing or effects are allowed.
- Make sure that there is good lighting in the room and you are shooting it in a quiet place.
- The song on which you are performing should be clearly audible and no background noise should be there.
- Make sure your face is visible as well as your feet. The judges would want to see your expressions as well as your footwork.
- For popping and breakdance wear outfits such that your moves are clearly visible.
- We would suggest dressing age appropriately.
- your performance will be judged based on three factors entertainment, uniqueness, and technique.
- Next, submit your video and if you cannot upload the video decrease its size from any online video size decreasing app or website and then try uploading it.
- Once your video is uploaded you can click on the submit button and hope for the best.
